Columbia County, Wisconsin
Columbia County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2010 census, the population was 56,833.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/55/55021.html )〕 Its county seat and largest city is Portage.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 The county was created in 1846. At the time, it was in the Wisconsin Territory.
Columbia County is part of the Madison, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Madison-Janesville-Beloit, WI Combined Statistical Area.
==Geography==
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (3.8%) is water. The county's highest point is Gibraltar Rock at 1,247 feet above sea level. The high butte-shaped bluff is located north of Lodi overlooking the Lake Wisconsin River valley.
